Better coping

Reduced disruptions from weather events means better navigability and less interference with livelihoods

What’s the need!

The science on changing climate systems reports that Africa will warm 1.5 times faster than the rest of the world.

This information needs to reach the most vulnerable communities first. It would lay the ground for all other risk-reducing actions to be built upon.

It’s important!

Africa already experiences the most prevalent extreme events, causing food and water scarcity.

The situation...

Indigenous communities have reverence for nature. They infer gods from living things and objects in their natural environment. Good weather is a blessing and bad weather is a punishment. However, the changing climate is not their doing.

Creating awareness is the best place to start. For indigenous communities, having climate change information would release them from this burden.
